The Writing Center provides free tutoring for all ELAC students. During a 30-minute session, tutors concentrate on thesis development, paragraph structure, overall essay cohesiveness, and close reading of the text if applicable. Tutors may also point out language error patterns if time allows.
The Writing Center offers on-going workshops, which are small-group discussions that focus on a particular topic such as thesis development, essay outlining, close reading of texts, and MLA formatting. Other workshops focus on grammar issues like run-on sentences and fragments.
Students who choose to get extra assistance after their 30 minute sessions are paired with Guided Practice tutors. 30 minute tutors will provide students with learning/revision plans, which Guided Practice tutors will use assist students in the completion of revision/learning activities.
Online tutoring is now available for all ELAC students. Tutors, just like in a one-on-one session, will provide students with feedback with their Reading or Writing assignments in real-time. To take advantage of this service, students must make an appointment to meet with an online tutor.

The Writing Center's Online Writing Lab (OWL) extends its services to students taking online courses and/or to students who do not have the time to come to the Writing Center. OWL provides students with many of the same services as the physical lab, including one-on-one tutoring and grammar programs. Integrating ELAC's moodle, students must create and use a Moodle account to use these services.
